Mitchel van Dinther, known professionally as Jameszoo, was born in Bois-le-Duc, Netherlands. Before his music career, he was an accomplished taekwondo athlete, becoming a two-time champion of the Netherlands. After an injury, he transitioned to music, starting his DJ career in his hometown. In 2013, Jameszoo participated in the Red Bull Music Academy in New York, where he collaborated with notable artists like Flying Lotus and Thundercat. His first album, Fool, was released in May 2016 under Brainfeeder Records. In early 2017, he received the John Peel Play More Jazz Award at Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards. Jameszoo has continued to release albums, including Melkweg (2019) and Blind (2022), both with Brainfeeder Records.
