Geoff Goodman, born on February 14, 1956, in New York, is an American jazz guitarist and music educator. He began his musical journey with guitar lessons at the Westchester Conservatory from 1968 to 1974, followed by studies at Boston University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Goodman's early career included performances with various bands in the New York area between 1970 and 1978. In 1979, he moved to Europe, settling first in Freiburg and later in Munich. Throughout his career, Goodman has collaborated with notable musicians such as Charlie Mariano, Mal Waldron, and Tony Lakatos. His discography includes releases such as Tall Tales and Dreams (2005), Song of Nature (2008), and The Opposite of What (2022). Goodman has also been active in music education, teaching jazz guitar at the Jazz & Rock Schule Freiburg from 1980 to 1986 and at the Freies Musikzentrum München since 1988.
