Fantastic Twins is the solo project of French artist, producer, songwriter, and performer Julienne Dessagne. A sonic exploration of dual characters shaped through experimental pop, cinematic electronics and the outer edges of techno. Her work is defined by immersive sound design, narrative tension, and emotionally charged atmospheres.
Dessagne has established herself as a distinctive voice in contemporary electronic music underpinned by her releases on Optimo Music, Kompakt, and her live performances. Her live set, anchored by layering her vocals, builds evolving sonic narratives on the fringes of techno, balancing kosmische textures, rave intensity, and psychedelic release. These dynamic sets have captivated audiences as the opener for Bicep, Berghain, fabric and Robert Johnson, festivals including Houghton, Nuits Sonores, and MIRA Digital Arts Festival, as well as special events such as the 10 Years of Arte Concert.
Alongside her releases, she composes and scores for the arts and contemporary dance. Her album Suite of Rooms was originally created for a contemporary dance work before developing into a standalone record, extending her dialogue between movement and sound.
Her 2023 album Two Is Not A Number was named one of DJ Mag’s Albums of the Year and praised by Electronic Sound as “astonishing and ambitious,” with coverage in publications such as Future Music and Harper’s Bazaar. She has delivered mixes and sessions for platforms including NTS, Rinse FM, Dublab, and Crack Magazine, and many more, as well as being featured in fashion shows for Dior, Acne Studios and JW Anderson.
