Heather Masse, an American alto singer born and raised in Maine, began her musical journey studying jazz at the New England Conservatory of Music. In 2007, she joined The Wailin' Jennys, a Canadian folk trio, marking a significant breakthrough in her career. Her initial steps into music included releasing her first EP, Many Moons, in 2008. Masse released her debut solo album, Bird Song, in 2009. She was a regular performer on the American Public Media program A Prairie Home Companion and collaborated with Noam Weinstein on his 2010 album Found Alive. In 2013, she released her second solo album, Lock My Heart. Masse also collaborated with trombonist Roswell Rudd on the album August Love Song, released in 2016. She continued to release music, including Hold On with Jed Wilson in 2019.
