The Truth, a British rock band from the United Kingdom, was formed in early 1982 by Dennis Greaves and Mick Lister. The group's initial lineup underwent several changes but Greaves and Lister remained consistent members throughout their active years. Their first release was the EP Five Live in 1984, followed by their debut album Playground in 1985. The band's stylistic shift became evident with the 1987 release of Weapons Of Love, which marked their most commercially successful period in the United States. The title track "Weapons Of Love" reached number 7 on the rock chart and number 65 on the Billboard Hot 100, while several songs from the album were featured in the cult sci-fi film The Hidden. In 1989, The Truth released their final album Jump, which included the singles "Jealous Man" and "Throwing It All Away". After this release, the band disbanded. In 2012, Greaves reformed The Truth for occasional live performances, including a show at London's Borderline on October 26, 2012.
