Gino Bechi, born on October 16, 1913, in Florence, Reino de Italia, was an Italian operatic baritone and actor. He studied under Raul Frazzi and De Giorgi, debuting in 1936 at Empoli as Germont in La traviata. His career thrived with performances across Italy, notably at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma from 1938 to 1952 and La Scala from 1939 to 1953. He gained prominence for his roles in works by Verdi, including Nabucco, which he performed during La Scala's reopening in 1946. He also recorded several operas with notable artists such as Maria Caniglia and Beniamino Gigli, including Cavalleria rusticana (1940), Andrea Chénier (1941), Un baile de máscaras (1943), and Aida (1946). His film appearances included roles in Fuga a due voci (1943) and La traviata (1968). He retired from performing in 1965 and passed away on February 2, 1993, in Florence, Italy.
