Rosa Henderson, born Rosa Deschamps on November 24, 1896 in Henderson, Kentucky, was an American singer known for her contributions to jazz and classic female blues. Her career began in 1913 when she joined her uncle's circus troupe. In the early 1920s, after moving to New York, Henderson started performing on Broadway and later in London. Her recording career spanned from 1923 to 1932, during which she released over one hundred songs under various pseudonyms. Notable recordings include "Afternoon Blues" (1923) and "Do Right Blies" (1924). She collaborated with prominent musicians like Fletcher Henderson's Jazz Five. After her husband's death in 1928, she continued performing until 1932. Henderson passed away from a heart attack on April 6, 1968.
