Uwe Zahn, known professionally as Arovane, was born in 1965 in Hameln, Germany. He began his musical journey in the early 1980s experimenting with microphones and Casio keyboards. In 1983, he acquired his first synthesizer and started exchanging self-produced tapes with friends. After moving to Berlin in 1991, Zahn established his own studio and released his debut EP under the Arovane moniker on Torsten Pröfrock's DIN label in 1998. His breakthrough came with the album Atol Scrap (1999), which solidified his experimental yet melodic style. Notable releases include Tides (2000) and Lilies (2004). Arovane has collaborated extensively, including work on the albums Resonance with Porya Hatami and In-between with Hior Chronik. He has also remixed tracks for artists such as Bomb the Bass and Lali Puna.
