Tarentel was an American post-rock band from San Francisco that formed in 1995. The ensemble was established by Danny Grody and Jefre Cantu-Ledesma and initially produced extended instrumental pieces. They released their debut eponymous EP, Tarentel (1998), followed by the studio album From Bone to Satellite (1999). Their lineup evolved to include the musicians John Hughes and Patricia Kavanaugh, as the group's style shifted toward an improvisational form incorporating noise and drone. Live performances were accompanied by original Super-8 film compositions by the filmmaker Paul Clipson. Their discography includes the studio recordings The Order of Things (2001), Mort aux Vaches (2002), and We Move Through Weather (2004). The band's activity ceased in 2009 following the release of the recording “You Can't Hide Your Love Forever Vol. 3: Space Junk” (2009).
