Skeletal Family, a rock band from Keighley, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, formed in December 1982. The original lineup included Anne-Marie Hurst on vocals, Stan Greenwood on guitar, Roger "Trotwood" Nowell on bass guitar, Ian "Karl Heinz" Taylor on keyboards/saxophone, and Steve Crane on drums. Their first single "Trees" was released in 1983, followed by signing with Red Rhino Records. The band's debut album Burning Oil topped the UK Independent Chart in August 1984. They toured with Sisters of Mercy during their First and Last and Always tour. In 1985, Skeletal Family released Futile Combat, which reached Number seven on the same chart. After several lineup changes and a brief disbandment in 1986, the band reformed multiple times over the years, releasing albums such as Sakura (2005) and Songs of Love, Hope & Despair (2009). Light From The Dark was released in April 2023.
