Rajan Mishra and Sajan Mishra, brothers born in Varanasi, India, were prominent Indian Hindustani classical vocalists specializing in the khyal style. They received their initial musical training from family members, including their grandfather's brother, Bade Ram Das Ji Mishra, and their father, Hanuman Prasad Mishra. While working as accountants in a small shop, they performed for Satguru Jagjit Singh, who recognized their talent and offered financial support, allowing them to focus on developing their singing. Their albums include A Marvel in Musical Partnership 1 (1991) and Tarana : Flights of Melody (1994). They performed extensively across India and internationally, including countries like Germany, France, the USA, and the UK. Rajan Mishra passed away on April 25, 2021, due to COVID-19 complications. Throughout their career, they received numerous accolades, including the Padma Bhushan in 2007, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1998, the Gandharwa National Award for 1994–1995, and the National Tansen Samman in 2012.
