Veena Sahasrabuddhe, born on September 14, 1948 in Kanpur, India, was a vocalist and composer of Hindustani classical music. She began her musical education under her father Shankar Shripad Bodas and later trained with Balwantrai Bhatt, Vasant Thakar, Gajananrao Joshi, and Gaansaraswati Kishori Amonkar. Sahasrabuddhe's career started with a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Kanpur University (1968) and a master’s degree in the same field from A.B.G.M.V. Mandal (1969). She released Tarana - Flights Of Melody in 1994. Other notable albums include The Awakening in 1995. She performed extensively across India and internationally. She received the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1993, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2013, and was posthumously awarded the Honorary Degree "संगीत महामहोपाध्याय" by Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal (ABGMV) in 2019. Sahasrabuddhe passed away on June 29, 2016.
