Wild Horses, a British rock band from London, was formed in 1978 by Jimmy Bain and Brian Robertson. The duo had previously been members of Rainbow and Thin Lizzy respectively. Their debut single "Criminal Tendencies" was released in October 1979 through EMI, followed by their first album Wild Horses (also known as The First Album) in April 1980. This self-titled debut featured guest appearances from Phil Lynott and Scott Gorham, reaching Number 38 on the charts. The band's subsequent singles "Face Down" and "Flyaway" were released that year. In 1981, Wild Horses released their second album Stand Your Ground, which did not achieve chart success. Despite touring with notable acts like Rush and Ted Nugent, internal conflicts led to the band's dissolution later that year. In 2026, the band's complete recordings were released by Cherry Red in the compilation Standing Our Ground: The Complete Recordings 1978-1981.
