Carlos Di Sarli, born Cayetano di Sarli on January 7, 1903 in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, was a conductor and pianist known for his contributions to tango music. He began his musical journey studying at the Williams Conservatory in Bahía Blanca where his brother Domingo taught. At age 13, Di Sarli joined a zarzuela company, performing across various provinces. In 1923, he moved to Buenos Aires and soon became part of Anselmo Aieta's ensemble. By 1927, Di Sarli debuted his own sextet in Buenos Aires. His early recordings for RCA Victor featured songs such as "T.B.C." by Edgardo Donato and "La guitarrita" by Eduardo Arolas. In 1930, a misunderstanding with one of Café Germinal's owners led him to return to Bahía Blanca briefly before settling in Rosario. He reorganized his orchestra in 1938, debuting on Radio El Mundo in January 1939. His notable works include "Nido gaucho" (with lyrics by Hector Marco) and "Verdema" (with lyrics by José María Contursi). Di Sarli passed away on January 12, 1960 in Buenos Aires.
