Mellow Trax fue fundada por el DJ y productor Christian Scharnweber. Christian Scharnweber nació el 9 de noviembre de 1972 en Hamburgo. Es un DJ y productor alemán de trance, eurodance y hands-up. A finales de los años 90, Christian Scharnweber comenzó sus propias producciones. En 1998 puso en marcha el proyecto Mellow Trax en Hamburgo. Su salto internacional se produjo en 1999 con el sencillo"Outa Space". El tema alcanzó el número 5 en Alemania y se convirtió en un éxito de club en Europa. En 2000 publicó su primer álbum, Techno Vibes (2000), que alcanzó el número 89 en Alemania. Otros singles son"Phuture Vibes" (1999) y"Music Is My Life" (2001). Mellow Trax caracterizó el sonido dance comercial de principios de la década de 2000 con elementos de trance melódico y hands-up. Tras sus primeros éxitos, Christian Scharnweber lanzó más remezclas y temas sueltos.
