Formada en Londres en 2023, la banda de indie rock alternativo BBY está integrada por Benjy Gibson (voz), Jessy Jacquet-Cretides y Tommaso Medica (guitarras), Deon Graham (bajo) y Tom Parkin (batería). Conocidos en su barrio de Shoreditch por sus febriles actuaciones, el quinteto ganó seguidores en las redes sociales con temas optimistas como "Hotline", "Money Body" y "U Come Near", los primeros singles que publicaron en 2023. Participaron en festivales como All Points East, en el este de Londres, y el Leeds Festival, antes de volver cada miércoles a su cuartel general, el club State51 de Shoreditch. En 2024, una nueva salva de temas como "Kille Me", "Breathe" y "Fucked Up" incendió la escena británica, mientras que el single principal "Kinky" aparecía en varias listas de rock alternativo estadounidenses, así como en Japón, tras la publicación del álbum 1 en el verano de 2024.
