Neumis Rock Circus was a German music group founded in 1979 in East Germany. The band, led by Hans-Joachim "Neumi" Neumann on vocals, featured Rainer Oleak on keyboard, Hans Joachim Schweda on bass, Stefan Schirrmacher on guitar, and Daniel Mischna on drums, the latter of whom was soon replaced by Ingo Politz. Their performances blended rock music with elements of circus, clownery, and cabaret. Neumis Rock Circus released their debut album Neumis Rock Circus in 1981 under Amiga Records. The band had several songs in the DDR Year-End Hit Parade, including "Der Clown" (1980), "He Mama, He Papa" (1981), and "Die Nachbarinnen" (1982). In 1983, the band won the Grand Prix at the International Schlager Festival Dresden with "Oh Darling". Neumann's departure from East Germany in the same year led to the group's disbandment, after which Oleak, Schirrmacher, and Politz went on to form the band Datzu.
