Thibaut Garcia has established himself as one of the most gifted guitarists of his generation, earning recognition from leading institutions and festivals across the world. Winner of major international awards, he has been celebrated by the Guitar Foundation of America, the BBC, the Victoires de la Musique Classique, and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, among others.
Of Franco-Spanish heritage, he was born in Toulouse, where he began his studies with Paul Ferret before continuing at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris under Olivier Chassain, also receiving guidance from Judicaël Perroy.
Since then, he has appeared in many of the world’s foremost concert halls and festivals, including Wigmore Hall in London, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Philharmonie de Paris, and the Bachfest Leipzig, among many others.
As a soloist, he performs regularly with leading orchestras such as the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the BBC orchestras, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, the Münchner Symphoniker, and numerous national and opera orchestras across Europe.
An avid chamber musician, Thibaut Garcia collaborates with artists including Edgar Moreau, Raphaël Sévère, Elsa Dreisig, Marianne Crebassa, Lucienne Renaudin-Vary, Anastasia Kobekina, and Quatuor Arod. He also performs in duo with Philippe Jaroussky (À sa guitare), Félicien Brut (Vol de Nuit), and Antoine Morinière (Goldberg Variations).
A Warner Classics/Erato exclusive artist, his discography includes, among the others, Aranjuez (awarded the Choc de Classica, Diapason d’Or, and Gramophone Editor’s Choice), El Bohemio, devoted to Agustín Barrios Mangoré, and a newly arranged version of Goldberg Variations for two guitars.
