Lukas Hilbert began his first band activities in the 1980s. In 1996, he founded the band Roh in Hamburg together with Carsten Pape and Meik Dobbratz. The group released several albums and established itself as a major force in German-language rock-pop. At the same time, Lukas Hilbert pursues a solo career and works intensively as a producer and lyricist. His musical breakthrough as a solo artist came in 2004 with the single "Was ich an dir mag", which reached number 3 in the German singles charts.
