The Sunshine Underground, a Leeds‑based indie‑rock group formed while members studied at New College Telford, emerged in the mid‑2000s with the single "Put You In Your Place" (2005‑07‑17) and the single "I Ain't Losing Any Sleep" (2006‑05‑14). The band released its debut album Raise The Alarm on 2006‑12‑04, followed by the single "Commercial Breakdown" (2007‑01‑29) and "Put You In Your Place" (2007‑01‑29), establishing a presence on the UK festival circuit, including performances at Glastonbury’s Other Stage and the Future Stage at T in the Park. In 2009 the group issued the EP Everything, Right Now (2009‑11‑02) and, after a brief hiatus, released the second album Nobody's Coming To Save You (2010‑02‑01) through City Rockers, which reached number 86 on the UK Albums Chart. The same year saw singles such as "We've Always Been Your Friends" (2010‑02‑15) and "Borders" (2011‑06‑06). Bassist Daley Smith departed in 2011, after which the trio recorded the third album The Sunshine Underground (2014‑06‑03) and released additional material, including Raise the Alarm B-Sides & Remixes (2011‑06‑06).
