Dr. Márta Ábrahám is an internationally recognized Hungarian violinist, educator, and researcher. She is a professor at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, leads the Ábrahám Consort early music ensemble, conducts innovative Bach research, and is the creator of the groundbreaking educational method called Colorful BACH.

Ábrahám earned her Master’s degree Summa Cum Laude (1996) and a Doctor of Liberal Arts (2013) at the Liszt Academy, studying under Natasa Sós, Dénes Kovács, Ferenc Rados, Sándor Végh, György Kurtág, David Takeno, and Ruggiero Ricci. Her awards include the László Lajtha Award (2024), the Zebegény Musical Prize (2016), and the Gramofon Prize (2013).
As a soloist, she has performed in over 24 countries at premier venues such as Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Berlin’s Philharmonie. She is also a sought-after pedagogue, frequently leading masterclasses and lectures at prestigious institutions and festivals worldwide, including the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Trinity College in London, the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and the Janáček Academy of Music in Brno. Additionally, she has served as a jury member for numerous international violin competitions. Her acclaimed publications include the Chaconne Handbook (2023) and the Special Complete Editions of Bach’s Fugues for Solo Violin (2021).
