28 Days are a punk rock band from Frankston, Victoria, formed in 1996. Their self-titled debut album 28 Days was released independently in March 1998 on Stubble Records, gaining international press attention. They followed with the five-track EP Kid Indestructible in 1999, which brought them national airplay on Triple J. In February 2000, they issued another EP, Here We Go, before achieving their biggest success with their second studio album Upstyledown (July 2000). The record debuted at Number 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, went platinum, and produced singles such as “Rip It Up”, “Goodbye”, and “Song for Jasmine”. After the death of drummer Scott Murray in November 2001, the group released their third studio album Stealing Chairs(September 2002), which peaked at number 6 and was certified gold. This period also saw the singles “Say What?” (a collaboration with Apollo 440) and “What’s the Deal?” charting in Australia. Their fourth studio album Extremist Makeover (2004) marked a decline in popularity. The band released a greatest hits compilation, 10 Years of Cheap Fame (March 2007), before disbanding later that year. 28 Days reformed in 2009, releasing “Unmarked Graves” in 2015.
