Kylie Minogue (born on May 28, 1968 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia), is an Australian singer, songwriter and actress. Acclaimed as the best-selling Australian female artist in history, Minogue launched her career as an actress on the Australian soap opera Neighbours however her acting career was permanently eclipsed by her popularity as a singer in 1987, when her cover of the 1960s pop classic "The Locomotion" topped the Australian charts for seven weeks. Reinventing herself as a globally-acclaimed dance-pop musician, "I Should Be So Lucky" became her second hit in early 1988, climbing to Number 1 not only in Australia, but also in Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Israel, Hong Kong, and the UK. Minogue's full-length debut, Kylie, was released internationally that summer, introducing the same blend of pop hooks and dance beats that would dominate follow-up records such as Enjoy Yourself and Rhythm of Love. Although her initial rush of pop fame faded during the early 1990s, Minogue had reinvented herself as a mature, trend-setting musician by the 21st century, collaborating with artists like Nick Cave, the Pet Shop Boys and Robbie Williams, soaring to number 1 with solo smash hits "Spinning Around," "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and "Slow”. Continuing to release chart-topping hits in the 2010s, Minogue released country-crossover album Golden (2018) to mixed reviews, returning to her dance roots for popular 2020 album Disco, following this with Disco (Guest List Edition) in 2021, which included several unreleased collaborations with artists including Years & Years, Gloria Gaynor and Dua Lipa. In 2022, Minogue released her fifteenth studio album Infinite Disco; a live recording of her 2020 livestream concert, followed by the 25th anniversary edition of her bestselling 1997 album Impossible Princess, on October 21, 2022.
