JT

JT, born Jatavia Shakara Johnson on 3 December 1992, in Liberty City, Miami, is one half of the hit hip-hop duo City Girls. Alongside her musical partner Yung Miami (Caresha Romeka Brownlee), the pair have become a prominent force in the rap industry and Billboard chart regulars. City Girls burst onto the scene in 2017 with their debut mixtape Period, which set the wheels in motion for their career. It was followed quickly by their debut studio album, Girl Code, in 2018, which yielded hit singles like "Twerk" featuring Cardi B and "Act Up." JT was arrested and imprisoned for credit card fraud in 2018 and later marked her release with the 2019 Twysted Genius-produced "JT First Day Out." She rejoined Yung Miami and the duo released their second studio album, City on Lock, in 2020, with their third and final effort, RAW, arriving in 2023. The following year, JT made an appearance on "Ex for a Reason" with Summer Walker and on "Muñekita" with Kali Uchis and El Alfa in 2023. She unleashed her debut mixtape, City Cinderella, in 2024, which was driven by the singles "Sideways" and "Okay." DJ Khaled, Jeezy, Stunna Girl, and Clip all appear on the mixtape, which shot to number 27 on the US Billboard 200 at the time of its release.
