Biography

Known best for winning the Lifetime reality series The Rap Game, Alyssa Michelle Stephens (December 22, 1998), is a trap and rap artist who began performing under the stage name Miss Mulatto. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, she started writing and rapping her own material at the early age of 10, dropping out of high school in order to pursue an artistic career. Shortly after winning The Rap Game, Latto turned down a contract from the producers of the show, choosing instead to become an independent artist. Her first single, “No More Talking,” saw the light of day in February 2016. That same year, she was awarded the Youth Hip Hop/R&B award at the 2016 Georgia Music Awards. Latto Let ‘Em Know, her first mixtape, was released in April 2017. In the following months, she collaborated with a wide array of A-list hip hop and R&B artists, from 2 Chainz and Future to Janelle Monáe and Jacob Latimore. Her first EP Time and Pressure arrived in 2018 and was followed by the highly-acclaimed single “Bitch from da Souf” and the EPs Big Latto and Hit The Latto in 2019. Queen of da Soul, her studio debut, appeared in 2020 and peaked at Number 44 on the Billboard 200. After changing her alias to just Latto, she dropped her sophomore album 777 in 2022, which reached Number 15 in the US and featured cameos by Savage, Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, Lil Durk, Nardo Wick, and Kodak Black.
