Yves Philippe Avit Nat (born December 29, 1890) was a French classical pianist and composer from Béziers. Nat began improvising on the organ at age seven. Nat studied at the Conservatoire de Paris under Paul Rougnon and Louis Diémer, earning a premier prix in 1907. Nat performed his first concert in 1910.Nat released the composition “Sonatine pour piano ‘Les oiseaux’” in 1920. In 1935, Nat became a professor at the Conservatoire de Paris. His works included the symphonic poem “L'Enfer” (1942). During the 1950s, Nat recorded for Les Discophiles français, completing a cycle of the 32 piano sonatas by Beethoven. Nat released the concerto “Valse de la mort” in 1954. Nat died in Paris on August 31, 1956. The compilation Ses Enregistrements 1930–1956 appeared in 2006.
