Robert Belfour, born on September 11, 1940, in Red Banks, Mississippi, was an American blues musician. He learned to play guitar from his father, Grant Belfour, and was influenced by musicians like Otha Turner, R.L. Burnside, and Junior Kimbrough. After his father's death, Belfour worked in construction for 35 years after moving to Memphis in 1959. In the 1980s, he began performing on Beale Street, leading to the inclusion of eight of his songs in David Evans' compilation The Spirit Lives On: Deep South Country Blues and Spirituals in the 1990s. This exposure led to Belfour's signing with Fat Possum Records, where he released his debut album What's Wrong With You in 2000. He passed away on February 24, 2015.
