Charles Caldwell, born May 18, 1943, in Mississippi, was an American guitarist known for electric North Mississippi hill country blues. He spent most of his life working at an industrial plant in Grenada, Mississippi, while performing locally at parties and juke joints. Caldwell began playing the blues as a teenager but remained unrecorded until 2002 when he met Matthew Johnson of Fat Possum Records. Johnson set up recording sessions at The Money Shot in Water Valley, Mississippi. During these sessions, Caldwell was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer but continued recording. His sole album, Remember Me, was released posthumously on February 24, 2004, drawing comparisons to artists like Junior Kimbrough, John Lee Hooker, and early Muddy Waters.
