Susanne Kirchmayr, known professionally as Electric Indigo, was born on December 15, 1965, in Vienna, Austria, and was an Austrian music producer and Techno DJ. She started her music career in 1989 in Vienna as a jazz and funk DJ, later transitioning her style to Detroit techno and Chicago house. In 1998, Electric Indigo launched female:pressure, an international platform for female DJs, producers, and artists involved in electronic music. She released the album 5 1 1 5 9 3 in 2018. Electric Indigo's work included collaborations with artists such as Mia Zabelka and Dorit Chrysler. She performed at the main stage of Detroit’s Electronic Music Fest in 2002. In 2012, she received the Outstanding Artist Award for Music from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.
