Væb is an Icelandic music duo consisting of the brothers Hálfdán Helgi Matthíasson, born on June 4, 2003, and Matthías Davíð Matthíasson, born on December 7, 2004. The group was formed in Iceland in 2022 and moves musically between electronic music, hip-hop and pop. Both artists grew up in a musical environment: Their mother is a singer and singing teacher, their father an organist, saxophone teacher and choir director. Hálfdán attracted attention at the age of twelve by winning a national singing competition. In September 2022, the debut album Væb tékk is released, which includes the singles "Aron Can (Borðar kál)" and "Þetta kallar á drykk". The remix of the single "Ofboðslega frægur" followed in 2023 , reaching number 17 in the Icelandic charts. The single "Tölur tala", a joint track with rapper Herra Hnetusmjör, reaches number 21 in the charts. In February 2024, the duo took part in the Icelandic preliminary round Söngvakeppnin with the song "Bíómynd" and came fourth. Nevertheless, "Bíómynd" is the only competition entry to make it into the top 10 of the Icelandic singles charts. In July 2024, the joint EP Væbauer with Ingi Bauer is released. In February 2025, Væb wins the Icelandic preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Róa". The song climbs to number 1 in the domestic charts and stays there for six weeks. At the ESC 2025 final in Basel, the duo reached 25th place with a total of 33 points.
