Jasmine, born on May 19, 1989, in Tokyo, Japan, is a J-pop singer and songwriter. She began singing at thirteen in a gospel choir at Yokota Air Base, which sparked her interest in gospel music. At 17, Jasmine decided to pursue a professional career, writing her own lyrics and music before signing with Sony Music Japan. Jasmine released her debut single "Sad to Say" on June 24, 2009, which debuted at Number 1 on the Chaku-Uta Full chart as a ringtone. The single later peaked at number 10 on the Oricon singles chart and became one of her most successful releases, selling over 30,000 physical copies in Japan. Her second single "No More" was released in October 2009, debuting at number 15 on the Oricon chart. In 2010, Jasmine released three singles over three consecutive months from March to May: "This Is Not a Game", "Jealous", and "Dreamin'". Her debut album Gold was released in July 2010, followed by her first national tour JASMINE LIVE TOUR 2010〜GOLD〜. In the same year, she released the single "ONE" produced by Norwegian team Stargate.
