Born in New Delhi, India in 1995, Kanishk Seth is a Sufi and playback singer, musician, and music director. Born into a musical family – his mother Kavita Seth is an iconic Sufi and Bollywood playback singer and composer – he became interested in music at a young age. Kanishk Seth came to prominence in 2015 with the release of Trance with Khusrow, the world’s first Sufi electronic / trance album. Mixing modern music with Indian influences, the album featured his mother Kavita on vocals. Trance with Khusrow was nominated for several awards at the Global Indian Music Academy Awards and the Mirchi Music Awards. Some of his most popular singles include “Chail Ki Hawa” (2018), “Thehra” (2020), “Mora Saajan” (2021), and “Aapki Yaad” (2022). His work in Bollywood films includes the songs ”Dil Jogio” (from the 2018 film Pinky Mesaab) and “Rang Saari” performed with his mother, Kavita (from the 2022 film Jugjugg Jeeyo). He formed his own group, the Kanishk Set Trio, and has chalked up many live performances of their unique blend of soulful Sufi and electronic music.
