Sweet Comfort Band was an American Christian rock band from Riverside, California, formed in 1974. The group initially consisted of Bryan Duncan and brothers Kevin and Rick Thomson. Randy Thomas joined around 1976. Their debut album, Sweet Comfort, was released in 1977. Their sound blended funk, jazz, R&B, and rock. After their second album, Breakin' the Ice (1978), the band moved to Light Records. Albums included Hold On Tight (1979) and Hearts of Fire (1981). The band disbanded in 1984 after releasing six studio albums, including Perfect Timing (1984). Kevin Thomson died in 2010. In 2013, the remaining members reunited to release The Waiting Is Over (2013), which featured contributions from Elijah and Joshua Thomson.
