Ruby Phillips, known professionally as Ruby Fields, is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist from Cronulla, New South Wales. Born in 1998, Fields began songwriting at age 11 and busking at 13. She released her debut single "I Want" in 2017, which was played nationwide on Triple J after being uploaded to the station's Unearthed platform. This marked a significant breakthrough for Fields, leading to further releases including "P Plates" and "Ritalin." Her first EP Your Dad's Opinion for Dinner followed in March 2018. She released her second EP Permanent Hermit, which included the single "Dinosaurs," reaching number 9 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2018. Fields' debut album Been Doin' It for a Bit was released in September 2021 and debuted atop the ARIA Albums Chart.
