Joana (born 11 October 1944, in Neustadt im Schwarzwald) is a German singer, songwriter, and television presenter. Born Johanna Emetz, she established a career performing folklore and French chansons after studying in Mannheim and Heidelberg. Her recording career began with the EP Von fremden Ländern (1966) and the debut album Folklore International (1968). Emetz gained recognition at international song festivals in Hvar (1971) and Zoppot (1972). Her discography featured the albums Für dich, du heile Welt (1971), Seitelange Liewesbriefe (1995), and Ich staune bloß (2010), alongside tracks such as "Das war alles für Heute". In 1974, she received the Goldene Europa. Between 2004 and 2005, Emetz hosted the television program Songs an einem Sommerabend. Her later work included the album Tun wir was dazu (2020). She established a reputation for performing in both high German and the Kurpfälzisch dialect.
