Andrew Bernstein, known professionally as Abdominal, and born on February 7, 1974, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is a rapper. He began his career in rap music during the late 1980s and early 1990s while attending Northern Secondary School. In 1998, Abdominal formed a rap crew with DJ Serious and Scott C., known as Rushholme, and later teamed up with DJ Fase to release the single "Vinyl Frontier" (1999). This collaboration led to further partnerships, notably with DJ Format on the album Music for the Mature B-Boy (2003). From 2003 to 2005, Abdominal toured extensively as part of Jurassic 5's European tour. In 2007, he released the solo album Escape from the Pigeon Hole, which featured collaborations with notable artists such as DJ Format and Cut Chemist. In June 2007, he embarked on a UK tour with DJ Fase. Abdominal's song "Pedal Pusher" (2007) won the 2007 SOCAN Songwriting Prize. He released Sitting Music with the Obliques in 2012, followed by Still Hungry with DJ Format in 2017.
