Sebastián Mendoza (born January 20, 1984, in Lanús, Buenos Aires) was an Argentine cumbia singer who first reached a national audience as the lead voice of Malagata around the band’s Magia Suburbana era (2000), before launching a solo career soon after. He broke out on his own with the album Todo Bien (2002), then continued with A Todo o Nada (2005) and Extraños Conocidos (2006), establishing a romantic, hook-first style that sat between classic “movida tropical” songwriting and a more modern stage delivery. He followed with later full-length projects including Único en Su Especie (2009) and the Sony-licensed album A la Orilla del Tiempo (2013), which widened his repertoire with tracks like “Norte y Sur” and kept him visible beyond the early-2000s hit cycle. In the 2020s, his output leaned heavily toward live and session-style recordings and occasional singles, including “Date Cuenta” (2025) with Roze Oficial and "Aquello Que Pasó" (2025) alongside Chilean cumbia luminary Jordan.
