Ginger Ale, a French electropop group originating from Paris, was formed in the late 1990s when members began collaborating in the Oberkampf district. The duo, consisting of Stéphane Bertrand and Jonathan Chaoul, released their debut album Laid Back Galerie (2002), produced by Renaud Letang. The album featured notable guests such as Johan Asherton, Étienne Daho, and Sondre Lerche, and included a cover of "Happy House" by Siouxsie and the Banshees. Chaoul left the group before their second album, Daggers Drawn (2006), and was replaced by Angèle David-Guillou, known as Klima.
