LPG, standing for "Lovely Pretty Girls," was a South Korean girl group that made its debut in 2005. Managed by Chan2 Productions, the creation of the group was inspired by the success of "semi-trot" singer Jang Yoon Jung. Reflecting their name, several members were beauty pageant contestants, with two having competed in the Miss Korea pageant. Consisting mostly of upbeat dance tracks, their studio debut Long Pretty Girls saw the light in 2005 and gained some traction thanks to the novelty single "캉캉 (Can Can)", performed in the Can-can style. In late September 2006, LPG released their second album, LPG2. Its lead single, the Latin-tinged "팔베개" (Arm Pillow) showcased the group's sexier side but it only reached number 33 on the Music Industry Association of Korea's sales chart. Over the next few years, LPG underwent several changes in their lineup, with Hanyoung and Sooah leaving for individual projects in 2007, followed by DaEun's departure to pursue an acting career in 2010. After bringing A-Force's EunByul into the fold, LPG returned later that year with the single "Doorbell of Love." Their song "I'm Sorry I'm a Noona" was released in January 2011, touching on the theme of an older woman's feelings for a younger man. By February 2011, LPG was preparing to debut in Japan as enka singers. They released "Angry," the Korean version of Yolanda Be Cool's "We No Speak Americano," in March of that year. October 2011 marked LPG's return after a 2-year hiatus with the mini-album "효녀시대" (Filial Daughters' Generation) and a new 9-member line-up that consisted of Rahi, Rika, Lani, Jiwon, Yuju, Riwon, Songha, Jieun and Eunji. Following Rahi, Rika, Lani, Yuju and Ahyul's departure in 2015, the group returned as a quartet with the song "Slowpoke." In 2016, Jieun departed to join RaNia, and by October 2016, LPG had disbanded, marking the end of an era for the group.
