Criaturas emerged in 2002 as a psychedelic 60's rock influenced quintet. Lead by singer/guitarist/composer Xanda 'Alex' Lemos, the band soon incorporated genres such as punk, classic rock, r&b, Brazilian mpb and pop. Although having had different formations throughout their history, Xanda has always been backed by Bruno & Caetano Zagonel, drum & bass respectively.
After releasing a debut EP in 2005 and a full album in 2009, Criaturas went into hibernation, but now makes a 2020 comeback with their newest release, Vestígios, an album sung in English, Portuguese and Yoruba. The album also contains a B side with instrumental versions of the songs. Vestígios marks the return of Criaturas as a quintet, now with Xanda's nephews, Yan & Yuri Lemos.
