Antwerp based DJ and music producer Olivier Arntz is active in the music business since the mid-1980s. As nOzart he is producing music in several genres without pinning himself down in any particular type though his style is often progressive, melodic, techno, deep house and chill tunes.
Olivier's fascination with music started very early in his life. As a youngster, he enjoyed immersing himself in his parents' extensive vinyl collection of various music genres. He saved up for a music system and began making mixes that he sent to local radio stations with success. By the age of sixteen, he began performing publicly for the first time as a disc jockey. By the early 1990s he performed in various nightclubs in Flanders and became a resident DJ. In the early 2000s he returned to the private party circuit where he is still active today as a popular booked DJ.
Musically Olivier is a jack of all trades, inspired by music from the fifties till today. In his growth as a music lover he was very much influenced by the emergence and success of new beat, a Belgian electronic dance music genre that fused elements of new wave, EDM, house and hip hop. It flourished in Western Europe during the late-1980s. Back then Olivier often frequented Boccaccio, an internationally popular dance temple in East Flanders. Gradually, all this led Olivier to develop his current fondness for different kinds of house, techno and chill-out music.
In addition to his fascination with music, Olivier developed an interest in technology and computers. In 2008 he also started to practice piano as he also began to set up his own business. All these experiences, knowledge and expertise come to the surface in his current activities as a music producer. Olivier makes music in the aforementioned genres without wanting to pin himself down in any particular type.
