Multi-instrumentalist Lars Finberg formed the American rock band The Intelligence in Seattle in 1999. They initially consisted of Finberg alongside other musicians, releasing the first EP Girlfriends and Boyfriends (2000) on Dragnet Records. They released the debut album Boredom and Terror (2004), followed by Icky Baby (2005) under In the Red Records. The lineup evolved over the years, with notable members including Dave Hernandez on guitar, Drew Church on bass, and Kaanan Tupper on drums. Their albums include Deuteronomy (2007), Fake Surfers (2009), Crepuscule with Pacman (2009), Males (2010), Everybody's Got It Easy But Me (2012), Vintage Future (2015), and Un-Psychedelic in Peavey City (2019). They toured extensively, including supporting acts like FFS in 2015.
