Cha Yoon-ji, known professionally as I, was born on December 2, 1996, in Gwangju, South Korea. She is a singer and dancer who debuted under WM Entertainment. Her breakthrough came with the release of her debut EP, I DREAM, on January 12, 2017. The EP showcased her vocal abilities and marked her entry into the competitive K-pop industry. In October 2017, Cha Yoon-ji joined The Unit: Idol Rebooting Project, a popular survival show aimed at revitalizing the careers of idols from various groups. However, she left the show on November 24 due to health issues, which temporarily halted her participation in the competition. Despite this setback, Cha Yoon-ji continued to pursue her music career, focusing on her solo endeavors and building a dedicated fanbase.
