Frédéric Zigante is a French guitarist born in 1961. He studied under Ruggero Chiesa, Alirio Díaz, and Alexandre Lagoya at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan. Zigante performed at international venues including the Suntory Hall in Tokyo and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. He specialized in 19th-century performance practices and performed on a guitar manufactured by Louis Panormo in 1828. His repertoire featured works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Niccolò Paganini, and Joaquín Rodrigo. Zigante premiered compositions by Alexandre Tansman, Franco Donatoni, and Steve Reich. He appeared on broadcasts for the BBC, Radio France, and RAI. His discography included the studio recordings Paganini: Guitar Music Vol. 1 (2006) and Villa-Lobos: Musique pour guitare (2011). Zigante served as a professor of guitar at the conservatory in Trieste and conducted masterclasses in China, Spain, and Switzerland.
