X-Wife, an indie rock and post-punk group from Porto, Portugal, was formed in 2002 by João Vieira, Rui Maia, and Fernando Sousa. Their first EP, Rockin' Rio, was released in 2003, followed by their debut album, Feeding the Machine, in 2004. In 2006, X-Wife published Side Effects, with "Ping-Pong" as the lead single. Their third album, Are You Ready for the Blackout?, debuted in the top 25 on the Portuguese charts in September 2008. In 2011, they released Infectious Affectional, which included the single "Keep on Dancing", charting for 26 weeks as the top-selling ringtone in Portugal. After a hiatus, X-Wife returned in 2015 with the single "Movin’ Up".
