Targino Alves Gondim Filho, born on October 7, 1972, in Pernambuco, Brazil, is an accordionist, composer, and musician. At age four, he moved to Juazeiro, Bahia, where his father introduced him to the accordion at eight years old. By 18, Gondim began performing in shows across interior cities of Pernambuco. His breakthrough came with "Até Mais Ver" in 1994, leading to television appearances and greater prominence. In 2000, presenter Regina Casé included his song "Esperando na Janela" in the film Me You Them, which won a Latin Grammy for Best Brazilian Song in 2001 and became the most performed song in Brazil in 2004. Gondim's debut CD, released by Gilberto Gil’s label Geleia Geral in 2001, featured his hit "Esperando na Janela." He has collaborated with artists such as Margareth Menezes, Elba Ramalho, and Dominguinhos.
