King Snake Roost, an Australian noise rock band, formed in 1985 in Adelaide. The group initially featured Charlie Tolnay on guitar and Michael Raymond on bass, among others. Their first album, From Barbarism to Christian Manhood, was released in 1987 through Aberrant Records. In 1987, the band relocated to Sydney and continued to evolve their lineup, releasing their second album, Things That Play Themselves, in 1989. King Snake Roost toured extensively, including a notable two-month tour of the US in 1990, during which they played at prestigious venues such as CBGB and Maxwell's. They shared stages with influential bands like Sonic Youth, Big Black, and Mudhoney. Their final album, Ground Into the Dirt, was released in 1990 by Amphetamine Reptile Records following the band’s disbandment.
