Otto Maximiliano Pereira de Cordeiro Ferreira, known mononymously as Otto, was born on June 28, 1968, in Belo Jardim, Pernambuco, Brazil. He is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, drummer, television actor and presenter. In his early teens, he moved to Recife, where he formed the pioneering Mangue Bit band Mundo Livre S/A with Fred 04. Otto served as the drummer for Mundo Livre S/A from 1984 to 1996. In 1998, Otto released his debut solo album Samba pra Burro, which mixed traditional Brazilian genres with electronica and drum and bass. The album received critical acclaim and was chosen by Pro-Música Brasil as the best album of that year. His subsequent albums include Condom Black (2001), Sem Gravidade (2003), and Certa Manhã Acordei de Sonhos Intranquilos (2009). In 2017, Otto released his sixth album, Ottomatopeia, which was elected the 14th best Brazilian album of that year by Rolling Stone Brazil.
