Kaguyahime, a Japanese folk/pop/rock band formed in 1970, emerged from the vibrant music scene of Japan. The group's breakthrough came with their single Kandagawa (“Kanda River”), released in September 1973. This track reached Number 1 on the Oricon chart and sold over 1.6 million copies, becoming their most successful release. The band's lineup evolved over time, with the second and current generation consisting of Kōsetsu Minami (vocals and guitar), Shōzō Ise (vocals and guitar), and Panda Yamada (vocals and bass). Kaguyahime released several notable albums throughout their career, including さあど in 1973. The band continued to release music with KAGUYAHIME forever in 1985, showcasing their enduring popularity. In 1996, they released かぐや姫 "LIVE" 大全集, a 4-CD live compilation that highlighted their dynamic performances. Their discography also includes compilations like SUPER SELECT BEST 35, released in 1998, and Best Dreamin', released in 2000, which featured some of their most beloved tracks. The band’s classic albums were also reissued, including かぐや姫 LIVE (originally 1974, remastered in 2013) and かぐや姫・今日 (originally 1978, reissued in 2007 and 2013), reflecting their enduring presence in the Japanese music industry. In addition to their studio and live albums, Kaguyahime released a singles collection titled かぐや姫 シングル・コレクション in 2017, providing fans with a comprehensive overview of their discography.
