Francisco Fiorentino, born on September 23, 1905 in San Telmo, Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a singer known for his contributions to tango music. He started as a bandoneonist and later became a refrain singer for orchestras led by Juan Carlos Cobián and Francisco Canaro. Fiorentino's career took off when he joined Aníbal Troilo’s orchestra in 1937, becoming its distinctive voice until 1944. He then formed his own orchestra with Astor Piazzolla but faced limited recognition. Later, he worked with José Basso, Alberto Mancione, and the ensemble of José Puglia and Edgardo Pedroza in Uruguay for his final recordings in November 1951. Tragically, Fiorentino died in a car accident near Mendoza on September 10, 1955, just days before his 50th birthday.
